Who’s #1? Mr. N’s #NFL Week 12 Power Poll #NFLRankings

NFL Power Rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys (1) – The Cowboys came out of the gates with a huge dose of Zeke and they marched the field and scored. The D has played tough against the run and has bent and not broken in the first 30. Dak has been challenged but held up pretty well and at the half are well in control. Dallas D played pretty well. If this D plays like that and the offense is what it is…they can’t be beat. I grow weary of every mother’s expert saying ‘Seattle is the best’ ‘New England is the best’ – – -let’s see either of those teams beat the Cowboys. The O rolled up the Skins D and the special teams and D played well and Dallas has won 10 in a row. They are THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL. A solid win.

2. Oakland Raiders (3) – The Raiders got off to a great start with some solid D and a great Carr led O and they jumped out to a nice lead. Part way along this happy Silver and Black road Carr almost broke his pinkie on a snap and had to leave. The Raider D then faced a veritable buzz saw. They were lambasted for 25 straight points and the Raiders were down and all seemed for naught. Then, in a moment that may live in history in the glory of Raider ball, Carr with a glove on returned. He drove the Raiders for the tie and then led them to a small lead. It came down to the end with the D needing to make one stop and THEY DID! Mack with the sack and the Silver and Black is BACK! What a fantastic win and this team is THE BEST IN THE AFC!!!!!!

3. New England Patriots (4) – The Pats found themselves in a dog fight with a hated division rival. They had trouble scoring and they had a lot of trouble stopping the Jets. They trailed for most of the game but they kept it close. They were given the ball with not much time left and down by 1. It seemed predestined as New England drove for the leading score and then the D shut down the Jets. A solid Division win on the road. Well done.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (5) – Luck is with the Chiefs. They couldn’t score at all in the early going but still got 9 from D and special teams. The O finally got some life and went toe to toe with Denver and all the while the Chiefs played solid D. The game was tied and went OT. The Chiefs had no luck to move the ball until the 14th min of OT and they did enough to seal the win. A gutsy win on the road that sets them nicely in the Wild Card race.

5. New York Giants (6) – Evidently the Giants *probably rightly* think they don’t have to try all that hard to win. They have allowed the Browns O to push them around the field. They are bending not breaking and are trading TDs for FGs. They will likely win but this is a LOT harder than it should be. The Giants were able to use their D to take over the game in the second half and they won this game for them. Not a great effort but it can be hard to beat terrible teams. It is hard to self-motivate. It was a win.

6. Detroit Lions (9) – The Lions brought the energy for the first half. Stafford made a lot of moves and throws but some were to air. The Lions D made some great plays BUT the Lions were the Same Old Sorry Assed Lions and made key self-defeating penalties and cost them two turnovers. They have crept out to a 3-point lead but the laughable excuse for a head coach has used up all his challenges. Even money if they can win this. Detroit’s O shut down in the 2nd half and they could barely manage any yards. They fell behind and were in trouble. Instead Stafford led his team on a great drive to tie and then the Lion D grabbed a pick and gave them the chance to win. Detroit gutted out a win. Well done. They are alone atop the NFC North.

7. Atlanta Falcons (11) – Finding themselves barely leading in a shootout. The Falcon D needs to tighten up a bit but on the positive they are in the lead. The Falcons O was not to be denied. They poured it on *So As To Speak* against the Cards and just held on and won it pretty easily. The Falcons are making a nice surge now. A good win.

8. Miami Dolphins (12) – Had a slow start but got it going a bit and are in a bit of a tough slugfest yet ahead at the half. The Dolphins got it going early in the second half and took a nice lead. There seemed to be a kind of prevent happen. The Dolphins D struggled mightily against the NINER O and very nearly lost the game. They sneak out a very ugly win and are lucky they won this one.

9. Seattle Seahawks (2) – It was said before this game started that Seattle had a really long trip here. Evidently jet leg was felt by the O line. Seattle gave Wilson no protection. He ran for his life or was sacked. The Seahawks managed only a FG and a safety and that is all. The fierce TB D just manhandled them. The Hawk D played ok but by letting in even one TD it was over. What a bad loss for a team that was looking like a real powerhouse. You don’t get your ass handed to you like this if you are a powerhouse.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (13) – Not only did Pittsburgh get a nice Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving they got to play scrimmage against a bunch of turkeys. Ben was able to do whatever he wanted and they combined for 4 TDs and that was 3 more than they needed. The D handled all Scott Tolzien had and more. A pretty relaxed win for Pittsburgh. Happy Holidays!

11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (17) – Mrs. N my soulmate and co-football watcher with me states that the Buc D has come to play and boy have they. Turnovers are gold and they are fighting Seattle tooth, fang and claw. The Bucs D was the story. They dominated the line play, they sacked and harried and bothered Wilson. Winston and his offense got only 2 TDs but that was one more than they needed. What a great win by a team that is looking more and more like a tough team to play. Well done.

12. Washington Redskins (7) – Washington’s D didn’t have an answer to Zeke early and then had trouble stopping Dak later. The Skins O moved between the 20’s and couldn’t get any further. They can’t win this game if they trade FGs for TDs. They need a lot more D and a LOT more O or they are going to lose this game. A very tired Skin D just didn’t have anything. Cousins did all he could to win this game and got them THAT close. They lost a close one and it hurts a little but it really lays at the feet of the NFL for scheduling them a Sunday Night and a THURSDAY afternoon. Tough loss.

13. Carolina Panthers (10) – The Panthers started out slow in this match. They had trouble scoring against the Raider D and the Panther D was missing their MLB Luke. They fell well behind and it seemed like a hard day for them. Well look out because here comes Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam! Newton rose to the occasion and drove them for 25 unanswered and they took the lead. But then the Panther D couldn’t stop the Raiders and they fell behind again. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam had one shot to tie but he was destroyed by the Raider D. This loss basically eliminated the Panthers. What a tough loss.

14. Buffalo Bills (15) – The Bills seem to be guilty of mailing this in in the first half. They better get one hell of a locker room pep talk of they could lose to a bad team. The Bills came out strong in the second half and got the O working. They were able to pull ahead and stay ahead. The D, missing a key secondary component from early on, struggled some but made the stop it had to and they won the game. It was ugly in that they had to battle to beat the Jags but it is a win.

15. New Orleans Saints (19) – Superb O has been the story for New Orleans. They have scored and scored and scored against what can be a good D. Their poor D has let in a ton and it may be that this game will be a ‘last team who scores wins’ one. The Saints put an end to that concept quick. Brees rolled up the Rams D and spit it out. They nearly put a 50 burger on them. A pretty easy win for the Big Easy. Well done.

16. Baltimore Ravens (18) – The Ravens are pretty much having their way against the Bengals. They can’t get all the TDs they might want but they smartly keep kicking it and are well in front. The Ravens made the most out of kicking FGs and playing D. They were well ahead but a kind of prevent let in a TD and that made it close. They held on and when it came down to the end the D made a great stop and they won. They will need to face the resurgent Steelers to decide this division. I still think in my heart of hearts this team isn’t very good. It was a win.

17. Denver Broncos (8) – The Broncos had a slow O start but pretty good D but stumbled and trailed early in a really quiet start. The Broncs got it going and managed to trade score for score and got the game tied and went to OT. They played a defensive minded OT and then with time nearly expiring the coach went for it on a 62yd FG and missed and that was the game. A bonehead coach call and down goes the Broncos. What a loss.

18. Houston Texans (16) – Houston is struggling to get any O going here and their D has played tough but been beaten on some big pass plays. Unless they can manage to get a roll going on O they are in trouble already. The Texans were victimized by the Charger pass game all day. The O struggled for most of the day. It finally came down to a last shot for the O and when push came to shove they just couldn’t do it. This team may crawl on its belly to the AFC South Title but my Gawd will that be an ugly Division title.

19. San Diego Chargers (22) – Rivers started a little slow but got it going and has led a couple of great drives for TDs. The Charger D has not been challenged too much by a bad O and San Diego is in the lead. The Bolts managed to get just enough TDs and then the D made a solid effort (albeit against a substandard QB). They had to make one stop to win and they did. A gutsy win for the team with heart.

20. Arizona Cardinals (14) – The Cards got Tyrann Mathieu back but he hasn’t helped so much. They are in a shootout against a great O and this O can’t hold up if you ask me. They need better D in the 2nd half and they need more points to win. The Cards O was not able to get any more points. Palmer is just too much of a turnover machine. The Cards D didn’t bring their A game and the O was barely a D and that made the whole thing an ugly L. This team may be done after this loss.

21. Tennessee Titans (24) – The Titans allowed a BEARS drive for a TD and then they shut them down and played superb on D. The Titan O started a little slow and then started to roll and are now completely dominating this game. The Titans were so far in front they went into full on prevent. It was such good prevent that they ended up barely holding on for a slim win because of a drop in the end zone. They should have just won this going away but they let Chicago back in it and that is why this Titan team is a pretender. It was a win.

22. Minnesota Vikings (20) – Vikings D seemed to have too much turkey on Wednesday night as they looked very sleepy for much of the first half. Only once, late, did they man up and make a key stop. They had one good drive but a bunch that collapsed. They trail a bit at the half and need to get a whole heck of lot consistent on O and D to win this game! The Vikings exercised an effective short pass game in lieu of a run game and got the game tied and then into a lead. Minnesota had a 3-point lead with 4 minutes left and had the Lions pinned at the 2. All the D had to do was stop Detroit 4 times and keep that team from gaining a silly 60 yards and they win. What did they do? They let Detroit march into field goal range and allowed a tie. Then with inside 2 and a shot to win the O tosses a golden pick and they lose. Well done, the team earned this loss.

23. Indianapolis Colts (21) – The Colts, who are bad with Andrew Luck, had to play without him. The offense, which sputters with Luck, did virtually nothing with Tolzien. The D had no chance against the Steeler’s big three. The only time Indy got into the end zone was when their punter threw a 35-yard completion on a trick play. The rest of the night Pagano kept going for it on 4th down and turning the ball over on downs. If they had kicked 3 after 3 after 3 they might have forced Pittsburgh to work harder and maybe make a mistake. Alas that is hyperbole as Indy did nothing and lost. A poor team.

24. New York Jets (23) – The Jets really looked petty by not using Petty. They brought back in Fitz and they lived by Fitz and died by the Fitz. He was very Fitz like. He drove the Jets to a lead and then it was up to the Jets D to make the stops. They didn’t and the Jets lost. Another loss but it was a decent effort.

25. Green Bay Packers (28) – Evidently the bad Packer D just had to play the Eagle O. They could shut down that O and that made them look NFL capable. Rodgers did his best 3 yard per completion as he threw 3,500 passes for 310 yards. The Pack won a game. Congrats. If you win out I will eat my Bears baseball cap.

26. Philadelphia Eagles (25) – Evidently the vaunted Eagle D can only perform well once every 5 games and this wasn’t one of those nights. They were crap. They let GB think they are good. The Eagle O was total crap and this was a terrible effort and this rotten team lost another.

27. Cincinnati Bengals (26) – Dalton isn’t helped being without his #1 WR as he is making bad throws. The D has bent a lot and broke once and they can’t score any way and are trailing badly. The Bengals didn’t give up and managed to get a score to make it a one possession game. Dalton is still more the reason they struggle than why they win. They had a final shot to tie the game and Dalton failed again. Their season is in the dumpster after this loss and they can thank Andy Dalton.

28. Los Angeles Rams (27) – The D has been shredded in the first half. Goff has looked great in his second start. He is mature and making excellent throws. They are down at the half but have every chance the way their Rookie QB is slinging the rock. Goff did pretty darn good here. He did turn it over but it was the D that failed miserably. They could stop nothing and the Rams were blown away. If Fisher wasn’t on a hot seat before he is now.

29. San Francisco 49ers (29) – Give San Fran full credit they are giving their all here. They took an early lead but the woe-begotten D has been beat and they trail and it is a long road for this poor excuse of a Niner team. San Fran didn’t give up today. They fell well behind but that didn’t deter them. You might say Colin K wouldn’t stand for that! He led them back and brought them to within one score. He led a late drive and got within about 1 yard of winning but lost. A game effort by the Niners.

30. Chicago BEARS (30) – Well they played a good 5 or 6 minutes. Since then there hasn’t been much to note here. D unable to stop Tennessee and the O can’t do a thing. This could be severely ugly unless a miracle occurs in the 2nd half. The Bears O had a good second half but it could have been superb if the stupid receivers hadn’t dropped at least NINE passes – 2 that were TDs. The Bears lost because a guy dropped the game winning TD as time expired. An Ugly loss. The only uglier thing was the pre-game mention that Chicago might want to STICK WITH CUTLER in 2017. AAAAAAAAAAGH. Cut that walking piece of SHIT and do it NOW.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (31) – Jacksonville is playing just like they do every single week. Today it is working somewhat well since there is not much effort put against them on O or D. Doubtful they can pull off an upset unless it is gifted to them. The Jags D had trouble with LeSean McCoy. Bortles ran wild and tossed more than a couple of TDs. This was the best Jag effort in weeks. In the end, it came down to one shot to win and they couldn’t do it. A game if losing effort.

32. Cleveland Browns (32) – Using McCown at QB puts them down at the start. The D has played ok and only let in 2 TDs in the first half. Getting only 2 FGs isn’t going to cut it. If they can get TDs they have a shot. I don’t think they have a shot. The Browns were overwhelmed in the 2nd half by the Giant D. Turnovers were gold, are gold and is gold so as to speak. They could not score much and down they went on the much shorter road to 0-16.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties! Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!

“Who’s the Best Team?” Mr N’s #NFL Week 11 Power Poll #NFLRankings #PowerPoll

NFL Power Rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys (1) – The Cowboys are uncharacteristically struggling against the sad sack Raven team. Troubles with O and D and they are in a dogfight. We will see what kind of guts Dallas has here. The Cowboys showed off their guts and when it got close they pulled away and put it away. Dak and Zeke and Dez are superb triplets. Another win by the best team in the NFL.

2. Seattle Seahawks (3) – The Seahawks seemed to hear all about how ‘good’ the Eagle D was as they made it a point to humiliate them. Trick plays, great long runs, superb passes. They kicked the Eagles ass. Superb D massacred Wentz. A quality win over a very over rated opponent.

3. Oakland Raiders (4) – Oye Oakland! They found themselves in a relative home game south of the border. No word if they had to climb over a wall either coming or going. The Raiders traded scores with a game Houston team and still found themselves trailing as the game got late. A superb rally from Carr put the Raiders even and then ahead for good. A great win for a Great Raider team!

4. New England Patriots (5) – The Pats seemed to not take this match seriously for about 25 minutes. They took a lead but wouldn’t put the rotten Niners away. Finally, in the second half they turned it on and they started to blow the game away. It was a blowout but a backdoor cover garbage TD made it look closer. Ho hum they whupped a crappy team.

5. Kansas City Chiefs (2) – Struggling to get control of a game against a lesser light. They have managed a TD and need to get tighter in pass coverage or this could be a long day. Boy was this a long day in KC. The D played pretty good in holding the Bucs to 4 FG and a TD but the O was asleep. They managed only 2 TDs and a FG and that isn’t good math. Kansas City couldn’t catch Tampa and lost this game. One can only think they mailed it in. What an abominable loss and now I have it open to whether this team is a mirage. This bears watching.

6. New York Giants (7) – It appears the NYG decided that they were already 8-3 with wins over Chicago today and Cleveland next week. Their effort has been deplorable. It is a basket of deplorables to quote someone J and they are trailing at the half and could blow a winnable game unless they wake up. The Giants O was never really able to get it going but boy did the D come out in the 2nd half. They bottled up the Bears and that let NY to just score enough to get an ugly win. They may be 8-3 in 2 weeks but this was an ugly win.

7. Washington Redskins (9) – The Washington Redskins came into this matchup as the nominal favorite. They seemed to play like a prize fighter trying to test out his opponent. They traded TDs, steady for a bit but then the Skins kept scoring and the Skin D started making stops. It didn’t take long before Washington was wiping the floor with a bad Pack team. Hope Green Bay was hungry as Washington fed them another forty burger. A solid win for a great team.

8. Denver Broncos (6) – on the bye, they need to get better performance at QB because the issues this team has against the rush means they can’t carry a bad QB to a Super Bowl again.

9. Detroit Lions (11) – Just when you think the Lions have turned the corner they turn back into the same old Sorry Assed Lions. They are at their self-defeating best and are doing all they can to let a bad Jag team to beat them. The Lions managed to fall behind and it really looked for a while they were going to lose but no…they didn’t. The Lions battled back and took the lead and then the D held on for a win. It was an ugly gutsy win for Detroit. They get rewarded with another game in less than 4 days.

10. Carolina Panthers (12) – The Panthers look like a team just 3 days off a bad loss. Offense troubled with blocking issues and sacks allowed. D is just the basic flat. A very flat first half performance. The Panthers had trouble with D and O but kept at it. They drew to a tie and made the plays necessary to grab a close win. They keep winning and that is good this time of the year.

11. Atlanta Falcons (10) – on the bye, the Falcons O was asleep against Philly and they need to wake up to keep the roll going.

12. Miami Dolphins (14) – A team that looked like they didn’t like the plane ride. They struggled for most of the game. Tannehill played like total crap. The team could do nothing on O and the D played ok but after allowing a TD and a FG it looked like they were dead. Then they put together 2 miracle drives in 5 minutes and they won. What an incredible comeback. I am glad I watched it as I still don’t believe it. The Dolphins are nominally alive in the Wild Card and that was quite the win!

13. Pittsburgh Steelers (16) – Shutting out a bad Cleveland team and pretty much having their way. Not really trying but you don’t really have to, to beat Cleveland. The Steelers really mailed it in here and played some decent D but beyond a big LeVeon day it was quiet on O. They won a game that should have been a laugher but a win is a win is a win. And they are the only AFC North team to do it today.

14. Arizona Cardinals (8) – Palmer committed the cardinal sin of a red zone golden turnover that became a pick 6. The Cards are playing ok D and ok O but need a better effort all over to win a game they should be well ahead in. The Cards turned it over too much and gave up a key special teams TD. That can’t help a team whose D also lets in scores. The Cardinals lost this game and this pretty much sticks a fork in this team. A bad loss.

15. Buffalo Bills (19) – The Bills got an early TD and now have maybe lost their best RB. Taylor getting whacked a lot but the D playing well. The Bills have a shot here. The Bills played super D and that was the key here. They got just enough O and managed to hold on for a super road win. Well done.

16. Houston Texans (13) – The Texans went to Mexico and remembered that once they belonged to them. They played pretty good O and D for 45 minutes and had a late lead. The D couldn’t seal the deal and after 2 TDs the O had nothing left. The Texans lost a tough one but still have the lead in their rotten division.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (20) – The Bucs are keeping it close on the road here with some decent throws by Winston and a D that so far is keeping the Chiefs pretty well in check. Winston did just enough for the whole game to put his team in the position to win. The D played it’s butt off and made the stops they had to. Tampa stole a game in a tough environment. What an amazing win for Tampa.

18. Baltimore Ravens (15) – Good start by Baltimore with solid D and some basic O and Baltimore is in the game. The Ravens much vaunted D *vaunted on every TV station* got beat by the pass and run and were rolled up and spit out. The Ravens couldn’t score near enough and the D couldn’t stop anything. Another loss for an overrated and poor Raven team.

19. New Orleans Saints (18) – Saints look like a team just 3 days off a bad loss. Offense troubled with blocking issues and drops. D is just the basic flat. A very flat first half performance. The Saints actually played a decent game on D and managed to do everything they could to give them a shot but they lost it by THAT much. Close but no cigar. Another loss.

20. Minnesota Vikings (28) – The Vikes have had a pretty decent first half with good D and some workable O. They are keeping in a game and playing pretty well. They need a full 60-minute effort. The Vikes played a game they hadn’t in weeks. Great D with scoring, Special teams with scoring and just enough O to get just enough points to hold on for a key win. The Vikings may just not be dead yet. What a win.

21. Indianapolis Colts (25) – The Colts are the beneficiary of playing a team who thinks they are the big bad. Luck is having his way and just dominating a team that should be kicking his butt. A large lead and it will be a modern miracle for them to lose this game but Indy does suck so it’s not impossible. The Colts did what they could to get Tennessee back in this game but no matter how they tried they couldn’t lose it and Indy won a close one. A really BAD Colt team has a win.

22. San Diego Chargers (22) – on the bye, this team has heart but maybe no place to play in San Diego after this season. The LA Chargers will just be odd to see and say.

23. New York Jets (24) – on the bye, here’s hoping they can keep being Petty in NY. They are in the midst of a lost season, let the kid play.

24. Tennessee Titans (21) – Tennessee in the unenviable position of playing a team they think is their Demon and they are scared to play them well. They are now way down and unless they pull their heads out of their butts they will lose a game they should be kicking butt in. The Titans are in the spot Houston was in for the last couple of years. They just can’t mentally get past Indy. They got it close but couldn’t seal the deal and Tennessee must be counted as simply a pretender, not a contender.

25. Philadelphia Eagles (23) – Evidently the world thinks the Eagles D is better than it is. They couldn’t stop passes or runs. They fell behind deep and Wentz threw 2 golden picks. They were bad and the turnovers killed them. A bad loss for a team that is not who anyone thnks they are. Except for me as I don’t think they are very good.

26. Cincinnati Bengals (17) – Cincy struggling at home with Dalton making errors. The D has bent but not broken as much in the red zone. Cincy needs no more turnovers and then they can try to get a win here. Andy Dalton just couldn’t get any points. One would have thought this was a road game. They were tough on D but terrible on O and a bad Bengal team loses another. Ugly home loss.

27. Los Angeles Rams (26) – The Rams dusted off their 1st overall pick and he, well, he…didn’t suck. He showed some poise and some angst but he didn’t toss picks. He did very little but got his team out to a 2-possession lead. The D played amazing. This was a good Ram D *for 54 minutes*. They dominated the line of scrimmage and shut out the Dolphins for most of the day. Then they started making stupid penalties and played prevent and gave up 2 scores and they…lost. Goff didn’t do much but he didn’t lose it, the D lost it. What a horrid loss.

28. Green Bay Packers (27) – The past is prologue here. Green Bay had the appearance of a good team. SNF broadcasters sang praises of the old Packer D stars who were out there early. Alas the praises lasted longer than good play by the likes of Bloodline and his buddies. Aaron was just too R-E-L-A-X-E-D to be able to keep up with a good offense. The Pack couldn’t score enough and their D lets in WAY too much. Another ugly loss for a team that is just a shell and absolutely no good.

29. San Francisco 49ers (29) – The Niners were outclassed from the start. They managed to keep it a little close for a while but then the D played like it can. They let in TD after TD and got so far down it mattered little what they did. A terrible effort by a bad team and another loss.

30. Chicago BEARS (30) – Cutler, the veritable girl on the hill, is having one of his good games so far. The BEARS are scoring like crazy and if they could make more tackles they might be way ahead. A good 30 minutes but no guarantees they can do this for 60. Cutler was Cutler the bad and turned it over AGAIN. The BEARS O did nothing in the second half and down went the Bears. Word is Romo might be an option in 2017. I hope for Baker Mayfield and if Romo is there then Mayfield redshirts til 2018.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (31) – Getting some traction with both Offense and Defense and are really in a game they had no hope of having a shot at. They could yet win this game. The Jags battled and pulled into a short lead. The D had been very effective and just needed to hold on. They couldn’t. It was I guess too much to ask as the Jags surrendered the lead. The O had a shot late to tie it but failed and a team who once had hope lost another.

32. Cleveland Browns (32) – Getting pounded by the Steeler D and not able to get any O going. The D has stopped some drives but not all and they are well on the way to another loss. The loss of Kessler doomed any hope they had. The D allowed too many and poor play killed any other shot they had. Another loss for the team on the road to 0-16.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties! Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!

Mr. N’s #NFL Week 10 Power Poll #NFLRankings

NFL Power Rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys (1) – The Cowboys had some real problems playing D against the Steelers and then the O line had severe issues. They fell behind and had to battle and battle all game. They see sawed back and forth and when it came down to it they did the last score and won a gutsy one. They had to work way harder than they should have to beat what has been a poor Steeler D. It is a win but man that was pretty ugly.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (3) – The Chiefs got Alex Smith back and one would have thought that was all they needed. Instead the Chief D is having great trouble stopping the Panthers while the O can’t seem to get It going and Smith has already thrown a golden turnover. A terrible start. Must give KC full credit for never giving up. They kept battling on D and Smith never gave up on O. They plugged away, they got the points they needed and sealed the win with a key game winning FG. What a super come from behind win and this shows this team is a team to take seriously. A superb win.

3. Seattle Seahawks (6) – The Seahawks brought their O on the road and it shone. They scored and scored and matched all tossed their way. The Legion of missed tackles continued to have great issues stopping the run. They battled to take a late lead and then in the last play they got away with a Pass INTERFERENCE and won. Congrats, you have slain the Devil in hell. What a win.

4. Oakland Raiders (4) – On the bye, coming off one of the biggest wins in modern Raider history. Can Oakland keep it going and have a 2nd half equal to the first? I hope so as it is a lot of fun to watch this young team go.

5. New England Patriots (2) – The Pats seemed to forget they are the Darth Vader at home. They had great trouble stopping the Hawk O and ‘gasp’ Tom Brady wasn’t all that. They battled back and forth but were never able to pull away. They fell behind late and when it came down to it they didn’t get a call and lost. What a huge loss that shows this team is human and may not need to be dragged into the sun and have a wooden stake pounded through its undead heart. A loss that hurts them.

6. Denver Broncos (9) – The Broncos have brought their D. That is good since their O doesn’t seem to be all that so far. They have a nice lead and if the D can keep up the pressure they could be in good shape. The Broncos turned over the ball in golden fashion and the vaunted D let in some points. It came down to the last plays of the game. The Broncos basically cheated in leaping over the line to block an extra point and then on the return of that ‘block’ the player stepped out of bounds. Of course, the refs missed that and Denver ‘wins’. They actually lost but were given a win by the worst reffing I have seen since the last time I saw terrible reffing. It is a win and it is worth less than nothing as they didn’t really win.

7. New York Giants (10) – The Giants had their ring of honor and they had home field and my could the first half been any more boring? I was watching NHL Hall of Fame induction on commercials and it was more exciting than the MNF. Well the Giants kept it close and were able to hold Cincy to a late FG which gave them the ability to score the winning TD. A good win for a pretty good Giants team.

8. Arizona Cardinals (12) – The Cards came into a game where they just have to show up and they would win. They jumped out to a nice lead and had it well in hand. What did they do? Run up 50? No, they simply decided total prevent was all that was necessary and they stopped trying and let a terrible Niner team back in it. They scuffled around and found themselves tied and only barely squeaked out a win. An ugly, ugly win and makes me question if Arizona is any good at all.

9. Washington Redskins (13) – The Redskins are pretty much having their way against the Vikings. There seems to be not much they can’t do and are well in control at the half. The Redskins took the foot off the gas and let Minnesota back in the game. They even fell behind. They took a late lead and then put the game in the hands of their D. It came right down to the last play and for only the second time since 2010 the Redskins D WON the game. What a win but it was harder than it should have been.

10. Atlanta Falcons (5) – The Falcons are being challenged by a game Eagle D and will have to see if they can get TDs in the 2nd half. A pretty good D performance but they trail a little. The Falcons O was never able to get anything really going and they lost a bad one to a Philly team that is easily beatable. A terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE loss.

11. Detroit Lions (8) – On the bye, the Lions are having a great year by their standards and have every opportunity now to have a shot at the playoffs.

12. Carolina Panthers (11) – Caaaaaam is really bringing his A game today. He showed the MVP style to get his first rushing TD. The D has been solid (better in the first half than they have been most of the year) and this is a very impressive Panther effort so far. Carolina played the best game they have on O and D and put themselves in position to win. However, the D wasn’t perfect and when it came right down to it they gave KC a shot and KC beat them and Carolina lost. Their season hopes for playoffs is over and it is on to next year for a disappointingly bad Panther team.

13. Houston Texans (16) – The Texans are using good D and an effective run game to take early control of this game. They seem to be in control. The Texans never really got much out of their QB but they took a decent sized lead. The D was then able to operate in effective prevent and although they let in a late garbage score, they got this win and get a better hold on this crappy division.

14. Miami Dolphins (17) – Miami had a bit of trouble getting it going on the west coast. Tannehill seemed rusty and it took til into the 2nd half for him to get a rhythm. The Dolphin D kept them in it and they kept getting turnovers and they sealed the game with the last one. A great win for Miami and they are nominally alive in the AFC wild card chase with this win.

15. Baltimore Ravens (21) – The Bad Ravens played another flat 30 against Cleveland. Flacco could do nothing for the first half and when he got a short field in the 2nd half he tossed a critical red zone pick. Baltimore won the game going away but this in no way means this team is any good at all. They play this way against the other 30 teams they lose. A very ugly win.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers (14) – All the experts were right, the Steelers really stood up and gave all they had in this match. Their D played much better than they have all year. Big Ben looked hot and the combo of Bell and Brown seemed often unstoppable. They kept going for 2 and missing it and that took lots off the board. In the last 2 minutes the bad Steeler D let in 2 easy rushing TDs and that beat them. A hurtful loss after a good effort and they needed this win in their division.

17. Cincinnati Bengals (7) – The Bengals showed everyone why they just aren’t that good. The D has holes which can be exploited. The O isn’t able to be a high scoring force. The Bengals kept it close and had a shot to put it away but managed only a late FG. Then their D let in one more TD and down they went. A bad loss and this team is just bad.

18. New Orleans Saints (18) – Brees is showing everyone that turnovers are gold and his two picks have been the key difference in the game so far. The Saints obviously need to score more than 0 to have a shot here. The Saints were able to get the offense working and charged back and got to the point of kicking the game winning extra point. Then it was sort of blocked and then kind of returned for a 2 pointer (the guy was out of bounds but that isn’t called on Denver) New Orleans was given a loss. They didn’t lose the game.

19. Buffalo Bills (20) – On the bye, the Bills have had superb games and terrible games. Rex needs to find consistency. It is going to be a long road to reach a wild card in the AFC and methinks the division race is already over.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22) – The Bucs have a secret weapon and it is Jay Cutler. These zillion turnovers in the first half have been the reason Tampa has a lead. The Bucs blew the Bears away in every way shape and form. A great easy win for Tampa.

21. Tennessee Titans (26) – The Titans have come out of nowhere and are kicking the ever-loving CRAP out of Green Bay. Excellent O and great D and now the Titans just have to show they can do this for 60. Tennessee did it for 60, they kept scoring, made some stops and put a major league 40 burger on the Packers. A great win for Tennessee and keeps them alive in their bad division. Nice win.

22. San Diego Chargers (19) – San Diego was in a very competitive match with a team built not dissimilar. The Chargers can run it, can throw it a bit and even tackle now and then. They showed all of this for the whole game and were able to match everything that Miami threw at them. Alas Phil Rivers also turned the ball over FOUR times and those were varying percentages of fine gold. The first turnover may have been 18k but the 4th one that cost them the game was pure 24k .99999 fine and that killed em. A tough loss and they had every chance to win but for the turnovers.

23. Philadelphia Eagles (27) – The Eagles came out with pretty good D and have been able to stop the hot Falcons O. Wentz and crew on O are not getting much done and they need to get more than 7 to win this game I think. The Eagles were able to get the points they needed and put this game away. A good win for a poor Eagle team.

24. New York Jets (23) – Bryce Petty is making the most of his first start. He has looked calm and at ease in the pocket. He has added a rush attack from the QB slot that the Jets haven’t had in maybe a decade. The horrendous discipline problems aside, the Jets seem to be in good shape today. Well poor Petty never was able to get another point basically and the Jets just foundered. Getting only 6 points isn’t enough. I can’t think that Fitz could have gotten more but I am certain Petty will be vilified for ineptitude. The Jets D really needed to not let LA to get more FGs. This is a tough loss and the Jets hopes for the post season are over.

25. Indianapolis Colts (25) – On the bye, A team at the crossroads. They paid Luck the ‘MONEY’ and it appears this may have been a franchise killing mistake.

26. Los Angeles Rams (29) – The Rams have had no luck getting the O going against the Jets. The Rams D has tried to disrupt the young QB but he appears unflappable. They are down and it is not certain they can come back against anyone. The Rams managed to keep battling on O and D and got one more field goal than their opponent. Well played D, pitiful O and a win. I don’t think they can hang their hat on this performance but hey they did win it.

27. Green Bay Packers (15) – The Packers D is just as abominable as I thought it was. Every time Tennessee touches the ball they get a TD. Rodgers is trying to bale water but this is a sinking Packer ship. The Packers tried to keep up but their D just let in so many points that the scoreboard nearly broke. The worst performance by a Packer D in decades. It was a laugher and Green Bay was blown out and are now in a very R-E-L-A-X-E-D under .500. What a horrible loss.

28. Minnesota Vikings (24) – The struggles continue on O and D and the Vikings are going to have to rally from way back to have a shot here. The Vikings had their best scoring since the 5-game win streak. Bradford had a super game and did almost all he could. The D has issues and kept letting Washington score and it came down to Bradford getting one more TD and he failed. Another loss. The Vikes are in trouble but not yet out of it in the standings.

29. San Francisco 49ers (30) – The Niners were blown out in the first 10 minutes but give them credit they never quit. Somehow this bad D played ok and the terrible O was able to get points upon points against a prevent D. The Niners got it to a tie and almost won. They lost by 3 but it was a game effort and that makes them better with this effort than some of the bad teams in this league.

30. Chicago BEARS (28) – Cutler is awful. The golden turnovers – including a pick six – show why this guy should be cut at half time. There is nothing this team can do with that pile of human debris at QB. Chicago was hung, drawn and quartered. Cutler brought this loss to them and it was ugly. They are a dead team walking with Cutler at QB. A horrible loss. Cut Cutler now.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (31) – Continuing struggles for Jacksonville on all parts of the game has them down in the first half in this division matchup. The Jaguars D was never able to make the key stops and before they could get any much offense going they were down by nearly a couple of TDs. The Jags scored a late one to make it close but were never in it and lost another in their lost season.

32. Cleveland Browns (32) – Cleveland came out and played a solid style of D. They stopped every Raven attempt to reach the end zone and were just consistent. They allowed movement between the 20s but in only allowing 2 FGs they did the job. Kessler was not a world beater but he continued to do the job effectively. He was able to drive for one TD and he didn’t turn the ball over. The Browns weren’t that impressive but at the half they led by 1. It was thought that the issues that befall the winless Browns were not from Coach Hue Jackson. Then the second half started and he benched his solid rookie QB to bring in the has been McCown to ‘spark’ the team. Let’s see, 2 INTS and a lost fumble and Cleveland never scored again. This loss is on Coach Jackson. Kessler is the QB, the team just lacks talent. Another Cleveland loss.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties! Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!

NFL Power Rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys (1) – The Cowboys allowed an early FG and then have turned it on and are blowing away the hapless Browns. This could be a 50 burger. The Cowboys pretty much did what they wished and simply won it going away but took their foot off the gas and were kind. A very easy win.

2. New England Patriots (2) – On the bye and waiting to take on the next challenge and are eyeing first over all if the Cowboys just slip a little.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (3) – The Chiefs are not the same without Alex Smith but so far it is enough to have a small lead over a very self-defeating Jags team. D enjoying a feast of golden turnovers. Kansas City D and special teams are doing what they need to and have the game in hand. Aided in no small way by a really bad mistake by a replay official. The Chiefs won a close one but I guess with no starting QB a close win is a good win.

4. Oakland Raiders (4) – Wow, it was nice to see the Silver and Black back and rocking at home! Carr seemed to know he didn’t have a lot of chances to throw so he handed it off. Latavius Murray ran wild and set career highs. The D was fierce and kept their cool too. A brilliant game from start to finish. The Raiders have set the tone now and can no longer allow the ‘bad games’ to occur. This is your year Oakland; it is yours for the taking. A great win.

5. Atlanta Falcons (5) – Early on the Falcons D had real trouble dealing with Winston and couldn’t cover Mike Evans as he kept ripping them. Luckily for them Matt Ryan kept pace and even took a slight lead at the half. What a half time speech! The Falcons came out and ripped Tampa a new one and won it going away. A great division win.

6. Seattle Seahawks (9) – The Seahawks once had the Legion of Boom to rely on along with the 12th man at home. They certainly don’t have offensive line. The Seahawk D was FLAT in the first half and basically the whole game. They were run over by the Bills and have huge issues stopping the run. Wilson changed his game and was much more effective. He found his superstar TE and put up huge numbers there. This game dissolved into a shootout and the Seahawks won. A good if flawed win.

7. Cincinnati Bengals (7) – On the bye and hoping that Baltimore and Pittsburgh just kill each other this week.

8. Detroit Lions (14) – A turnover by Stafford, pure gold, cost them a FG but they have managed to keep battling and the Lions have a short lead at the half. The Lions led most of the way and then went back to their self-defeating ways. The Lions gave up the lead late and then had a miracle drive of their own and now it’s OT. Way to go Stafford and Detroit. They managed to eke out a win with an OT TD and they are now in the running for the division. Well done.

9. Denver Broncos (6) – The Broncos came to Oakland found the Silver and Black are back! Siemian was battered and bothered all game. He couldn’t find anyone open and he practically set a record for futility with consecutive 3 and outs. The Bronco D did a lot of their late hit cheating but some of it was flagged tonight. The weakness, run stopping, was exposed on national TV as the Broncos were run over and over. The Broncos have been destroyed and that reign is over.

10. New York Giants (15) – Eli is having a super game and he is ripping a questionably good Eagle D for score after score. The D and special team are not that good. The Giants O had this game well in hand but the really really BAD Giant D has the game now in doubt and it’s an open question if they can hold on to win. Eli tried to throw the game away but the questionable Giant D did what Minnesota’s D couldn’t – they won the game for them. The Giants are now a distant 2nd place in the NFC East behind Dallas.

11. Carolina Panthers (17) – Caaaaaaaam has had trouble getting much going against a game Ram D but he did get one TD and so far, that is enough. Me thinks they will need more than 7 to win this game. The Panthers took my advice and added 3 and then added 3 more. They played a lot better on D and even their poorly performing secondary did a decent job and they win an ugly close one. It is a win.

12. Arizona Cardinals (12) – On the bye and a team now desperate on D with Tyrann Mathieu hurt. This team needs consistency.

13. Washington Redskins (13) – On the bye and hoping that the Giants and Eagles just kill each other this week.

14. Pittsburgh Steelers (8) – Big Ben is brave if not effective and the Steelers are trailing and need to get some O to have a shot here. With absolutely no offense and couple that with bad special teams and this Steeler team is going down hard in a tough division game. This could be the end for Pittsburgh. An ugly loss and Ben looks no way near able to play.

15. Green Bay Packers (11) – The Pack special teams let in a long kick return TD. The Pack Crappy D followed that up by allowing a lot of points and they find themselves down to a pretty bad Colts team. Rodgers could still dig a win out but this is a lot harder to do then it should be. The pitiful Packer D kept allowing points and Aaron even tossed a pick. The Packers started putting up TDs fast but in the end, it was too little too late and now Aaron can R-E-L-A-X in third place after a very BAD loss.

16. Houston Texans (16) – On the bye and in pretty good shape in a pretty bad division.

17. Miami Dolphins (18) – The Dolphins are in a division battle shootout. Good O and some poor D and they are trading scores and could very well be last team who scores will win. Dolphins have a late lead and with any luck they might have a chance to win this one. The Dolphins got the last score and won the game. It was hard fought but a nice win.

18. New Orleans Saints (24) – New Orleans has come to the San Fran area and found their own version of a gold rush. Brees and the O put up a 30 burger in the first half against the extremely laughable Niner D and but for the Saints D being nearly as laughable this would already be a laugher. For laughing sakes. The Saints pretty much took their foot off the gas but still managed a 40 burger. A pretty easy win for a team with a pretty poor D.

19. San Diego Chargers (20) – Fast start to the Chargers as Rivers and co. were able to score a couple quick and they had a nice lead and seemed like the game was in control. Then the Bolts D let the Titans start to move and they barely held the lead at the half and a bad D performance in the third means the Chargers are battling from behind again. The Chargers have been able to take advantage of Golden turnovers and have grabbed a decent sized late lead and once more the Charger D must see if they can hold for a win. The Chargers D really stood up and they won the game for San Diego. It was a shootout and they used points off golden turnovers to tell the tale. A good win the team with heart.

20. Buffalo Bills (19) – The Bills went on the road to the west coast and didn’t bring their D. Tyrod Taylor really got the running game going and used that to score and score. The Bills just couldn’t find a D that could stop the Seahawks. They kept themselves in the game but this team isn’t built to win shootouts. The Bills scored 25 and that should be enough to get them a win. They allowed 31. A well-played game by half the team (the O) and in the end a tough loss.

21. Baltimore Ravens (23) – The Ravens are quothing that they are able to control a gimpy Big Ben and have a small lead. Can their D just hold down the Steelers for 60? The Ravens D has been able to keep a hobbled Big Ben down and with some nice special teams they have a solid lead. The Ravens have come off a bye with solid win and can see now if they can right their previously sinking ship.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (21) – Solid Buc O to start. Winston and Evans are a great combo. The D played a pretty good first half and they are within one score. Wow. They decided to not play D in the 2nd half and Tampa got killed. It was an ugly loss.

23. New York Jets (22) – Fitz is being Fitz. He is getting points but the D is letting them in and this is becoming a last team who scores wins game. Fitz got hurt and that has hampered the Jets ability to create O and they are trailing the Fins late. The Jets managed to grab a lead and now it becomes can their D hold it? The D couldn’t and the Jets lose a tough division match and this may stick a fork in the Jets for the year.

24. Minnesota Vikings (10) – The positive is that Bradford has had a lot more protection and the Vikes D got a golden turnover. The bad is that early on all that means is they are still trailing the Lions. The Vikings were able to overcome some issues with kicking and bad coach decisions to find a way to march to a lead. They gave the game to their D with 23 sec left and they win with a stop. So? OT as the Viking D stunk for 2 plays. The Vikings D added to this by allowing a Detroit OT TD. This loss is equally shared by their incompetent kicker who missed an extra point, their coach who didn’t try 2 FGs and their D that couldn’t make a stop in the last 5 minutes of the game. A TERRIBLE well-earned loss.

25. Indianapolis Colts (27) – A great start with a quick TD and the Colts have piled it on. The Colts D is not very effective but they are barely holding their own. It is an open question as to whether they can hold this lead. The Colts expanded the lead and then in a rollicking finish the D bent and bent. They let in a TD every 2 minutes but when it came down to it…Luck got the first downs he had to and they won a great upset on the road! What a win!

26. Tennessee Titans (25) – Slow start but it is a west coast road game for this Titan team. They let in a lot of points early but Mariota won’t be quieted. He has battled back and the D has been better and early in the 2nd half they have a lead. Where will it go from here? Mariota led the O to keep Tennessee in the game. Then Mariota turned the ball over and that has put them deep in a hole. Is there a miracle comeback in them? Mariota kept them battling but it was his golden turnovers that cost them the game. A good effort on the road but like Jacksonville they can’t turn it over when they aren’t that good. Another loss.

27. Philadelphia Eagles (26) – Terrible D performance has them trailing big and if not for a special teams kick return they would be in a huge hole. This just in, the Eagles have gone for it twice on 4th in the red zone and it has cost Philly 6 points. Stupid coaching decisions 101. The Eagles were well behind but came back against a combined bad and prevent D and now are within one score late. The D got them the ball late and Wentz had a shot. He couldn’t do it and they lost a big division game and now are in a tail spin.

28. Chicago BEARS (28) – On the bye – the good is they are using Howard, the bad is Cutler is there. A season of nightmares but at least the Cubs won.

29. Los Angeles Rams (29) – The Rams D has played a very solid first half. The Rams O under Keenum is just flat and Keenum is booed every time he misses a pass. This is ugly and it may just be Goff time. The Rams were strangled on O for most of the game. They managed a FG when the game was in question and a TD when it may have been against prevent. They need to fix the O. The D played well but with no O they had no shot and down they went. A bad home loss. Goff time?

30. San Francisco 49ers (30) – Would that they could play D…well the Niners suck and are really trying hard to get back down to 31 or 32. A terrible D performance in the first half. They got a few points but are still well down and have plenty of work to do. The Niners were never able to stop New Orleans enough or score enough. A team whose D just got worked over and this was just an ugly loss.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (31) – The Jags are having more of their typical problems on the road. Bortles has been picked and it was golden. They can’t get any O outside some Ivory rushing and are having trouble getting any points. The Jags have turned the ball over 4 times and that is pure 24k gold. You can’t turn it over 4 times, be as bad as they are and expect to win. No surprise here, they lost and looked self-defeating in doing it.

32. Cleveland Browns (32) – Kessler is a revelation at QB but with his C ejected and the ream struggling on D this is going to be another long day for Cleveland on the road to 0-16. The Browns never had a hope and never managed much whatsoever and that is the story of the Browns. Another loss for the worst team in the NFL.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties! Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!

NFL Power Rankings

1. Dallas Cowboys (1) – The Cowboys had hoped to simply dominate and put away the upstart Eagles. Unfortunately for Dallas Dak Prescott is human. He has had to listen to the ‘Romo is practicing’, ‘This could be Romo’s team’ talk all for the last 2 weeks. He tightened up and frankly he played like a 4th round draft pick today. He made bad throws, he took bad chances. The Boys were able to hold Wentz down but not out as they were caught late and forced into OT. It was actually a gutsy call by Prescott that won them the game. A good division win for Dallas.

2. New England Patriots (5) – A solid start for New England has them in control in the first half. The Pats simply rolled and rolled and rolled here. Brady was fully in control and did whatever he wanted. The Pats D made a lot of dirty hits and it was very cheap. In the end the just rolled over the Bills. A key division win but no way a surprise.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (3) – The Chiefs are in a battle against a bad Colt team. The injury to Alex Smith held down the O in the first half. The Chiefs got it going and put up an insurmountable lead. They fell to prevent but it never put the game in doubt. Another solid win by a KC team that is part of the trifecta of the best three teams in the AFC who are all in the West. A great win over a terrible team.

4. Oakland Raiders (4) – The Raider D looks like it flew across country and not a simple Florida drive as they are having trouble stopping Tampa. The Raiders persevered and began to rip up Tampa D more often than not. The Raiders might have won this easily if they hadn’t set the ALL-TIME record for most penalties in a game. The Raiders tried to self-defeat like a Lion team but they aren’t Detroit so in the end they snuck out another win on the road. This gutsy Raiders team is making me a believer in the Silver and Black again.

5. Atlanta Falcons (9) – The Falcons were at home but played like on the road. The D gave up too much to an overrated has been of a QB who looks best with his head banging off the turf. Matty Ice was able to score every time he had to and it turned into a last team scores wins. The Falcons scored last and they won. The D stopped the sucky Packers and hung a loss on Green Bay. Superb win.

6. Denver Broncos (12) – The story here was the Bronco D. They scored first and they harried and hassled and often cheap shotted on Rivers. The Denver D must have gotten almost ¾ of all the points Denver scored. Once they had the lead and time was winding down they fell into prevent and but for a late stop it nearly prevented them from winning. It was a win over a game Charger team.

7. Cincinnati Bengals (8) – The Bengals were able to be pretty effective on O but the D struggled against a powerful Skin pass attack. The game went back and forth with Cincy taking and giving up a lead until it was tied late and then it ended. Tied. Hunh. What a weird year the NFL is having.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers (10) – On the bye. The good news is Big Ben is nearing a return and that means the season may not be lost.

9. Seattle Seahawks (2) – Good offensive output early and the D got a turnover that was golden for 6 so a good start for Seattle. The Seahawk D slowly started to allow yard after yard in the second half and before they noticed they were trailing. It all came down to Russell Wilson and he got them within 2 yards or so of a win but that still means they lost. A bad loss to a bad team. To not be able to beat the Saints D means the Hawks O is BAD.

10. Minnesota Vikings (6) – I have seen some scary things on Halloween night and one of the scariest is the play or lack thereof of the Vikings offensive line. The total lack of ability set the tone for the utter lack of offense from the Vikes from start to finish. The D that is excellent is getting tired and tired of being all the team has. The Vikes were dominated by a pretty worthless BEARS team. This was a terrible loss and one more and the freefall will begin.

11. Green Bay Packers (7) – Well how ‘bout them Packers? They scored plenty and their terrible D allowed plenty. The Packers even had the lead late and came down to the vaunted Aaron Rodgers making one more drive for the win…he COULDN’T do it. He lost. Rodgers lost. It was his fault and he lost and by the way, he lost. The Packers can only beat teams that aren’t very good which makes them not very good.

12. Arizona Cardinals (11) – They are ‘hung over’ from their 6-6 tie on MNF and are frankly playing like shit. Well it stunk until later in the 2nd half. They were down like 23 and when they finally started to play on O they were too far down to catch up. It was an ugly loss that they earned by not really trying for 35 minutes or so.

13. Washington Redskins (14) – Ok day by the Skins D but a super day by Cousins. The O matched everything thrown at them and but for a missed kick here and there they might have won this game. They tied the game and need to keep up this offensive prowess going forward.

14. Detroit Lions (13) – Detroit is making it necessary to again try to come from behind as they haven’t accomplished much early. Stafford was not able to find his mojo this week. Too much Texan D and no way to answer that. The Lions D didn’t play bad but they gave up enough to lose and down goes a team that had been on a roll.

15. New York Giants (16) – On the bye. Being on a bye made them look better than a lot of team that played badly. Can NYG keep it up by playing themselves?

16. Houston Texans (17) – The Texans have gotten off to a good start on O and D and are early in control. The Texans played their best defensive game in weeks today. They were able to handle anything Detroit had and brought great pressure often. Osweiler wasn’t great but he did enough and they got a good win and now control a crappy division.

17. Carolina Panthers (19) – The Panthers are off to a superb start and playing way above their pay grade. They are really taking advantage of a lackluster Cardinal effort in all phases. The Panthers were able to get so far out ahead that they were able to hold on and win. They played a good day on O but the questionable D looked questionable as Arizona made it close. A bad Panther team wins a game because their opponent gave it to them.

18. Miami Dolphins (23) – On the bye and coming off a couple of great rushing performances from Ajayi. Can they do it three times in a row?

19. Buffalo Bills (15) – Not what Buffalo wanted – Taylor getting dinged on a VERY ILLEGAL hit that wasn’t called and the D has been beaten twice now they must come from behind. The poor Bills didn’t have any ability to stop Brady in the air or even on the ground. They were battered by cheap shotting D and never had a chance and lost a bad one. This hurts them in the wild card more than the division.

20. San Diego Chargers (20) – The Bolts proved again that turnovers are gold. Rivers was picked more than once and the hits he took were severe. They faced a D that plays to the whistle, past the whistle and past when the whistle is retired. They were down from the start but battled as hard as they could. Rivers had a decent day passing give or take his turnovers and even got some good running game involved. The Charger D was decent but the offensive scores they allowed did cost them the game. A tough loss for a team who wins the award for heart.

21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (21) – Winston looking all world and the Buc D is playing well as they lead early. The Bucs found themselves in a toe to toe battle. The O scored some and then didn’t. The D stopped some and then didn’t. It came down to late FG chances and the wind was on Tampa’s side as it went to OT but then their O didn’t play well. The game ended with a bad tackle attempt and down goes Tampa at home. A loss that hurts them.

22. New York Jets (24) – The Jets are having trouble on O and D early but since they are playing Cleveland they should be ok in the second half. The Jets were welcomed by the bad play of the Browns in the 2nd half. The Browns D returned to not tackling and let the Jets roll it up. NY caught em, passed em and held on for a close yet still quite ugly win. It was a quite ugly win.

23. Baltimore Ravens (26) – On the bye and another that looked better by not playing.

24. New Orleans Saints (27) – Saints are having trouble moving the ball against Seattle and stopping the Seahawk O early. The Saints never gave up and kept pushing the ball up the field. Brees overcame a slow start and ripped up the Hawk D and finally got a lead. The Saints Moribund D actually made a stop when it mattered and the Saints win one.

25. Tennessee Titans (28) – On their way early, complete and utter domination. If only they had done this against a BAD Colt team they would be on the way to 5-3. Like they are playing a high school team but doing a good job of it so far. A nice easy win for Tennessee.

26. Philadelphia Eagles (22) – The Eagles and Wentz actually had a pretty good game. They were able to battle Dallas and keep toe to toe with them on O and D for the whole 60. Wentz is certainly capable and the O line performed much better this week. Alas the D got burned in OT and down went Philly. They still look like a 4-win team.

27. Indianapolis Colts (25) – The Colts D has bent many times and broken only once. They may need another late comeback here. The bad Colts played a typical game here. Bad D was all over and to help bury them Luck had a pretty bad day too. The Colts were miserable, are miserable and need a major overhaul at practically every position. An ugly loss.

28. Chicago BEARS (31) – Cutler sucks. The BEARS had a great game defensively playing against a terrible O line. Cutler didn’t turn it over (he does suck) but he did hand it off to Howard well. Jordan Howard is a superstar and that fact Chicago didn’t use him for 2 weeks still makes no sense. The BEARS never trailed and simply overwhelmed what had been the best team in the NFC. Let’s see them beat someone else. Oh, and Cutler sucks.

29. Los Angeles Rams (29) – On the Bye. A team that needed a bye to try to figure out where they go from here.

30. San Francisco 49ers (31) – On the bye and who would have thought not playing would make this sad excuse for a team look better?

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (18) – The days of Jacksonville getting any credit in this poll are gone. I hope for their sake that Cleveland loses again because this team is looking all the world like the WORST team in the NFL. Talent doesn’t mean everything or anything in Jacksonville. Just a Halloween horror show to watch. A very ugly loss.

32. Cleveland Browns (32) – Another good start for Cleveland. The question is can they play 60 today? Does Cam Newton wear normal clothes after a game? Answer to both is no. Cleveland’s D played a terrible second half and let the Jets roll up the score and Cleveland made it close late but they simply lost another that they led by mega double digits. Another ugly Cleveland loss.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties! Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!
