Mr. N’s #NFL Conference Championship Weekend Power Poll #Rankings #Patriots #Falcons

NFL Power Rankings

1.            New England Patriots (1) – Came out with a simple game plan, beat the zone D of Pittsburgh.  There were holes that Jabba The Hutt could have run routes through.  Brady channeled his inner Darth Vader and tore them apart.  They scored and scored and scored.  Their D stopped them in the red zone over and over and even got turnovers.  The game was over well before the 4th Quarter and now The Evil Empire and Darth Vader are on their way to their 9th Super Bowl.

2.            Atlanta Falcons (4) – The Falcons got off to a fast start with a TD and a FG.  Their D played strong and kept getting turnovers.  Ryan was superb.  He spread the ball around and burned them with Sanu, he burned them with Julio, he burned them with Freeman.  By the half they were up by a ton and by the 4th quarter they had put up a 40 burger.  A dominating and powerful win that showed Atlanta at the top of their game.  If they play this way two weeks from now in Houston they could win the Super Bowl.  A great win.

3.            Pittsburgh Steelers (3) – Word of warning to rest of the NFL.  Even is your opponents are a bunch of A**holes -don’t call them that on social media.  Pittsburgh came in with that over their heads and then their D proceeded to play a weak zone that was tore apart again and again.  Big Ben overthrew deep balls and sometimes receivers dropped it too.  Down by a ton they got a little against prevent but too little too late.  A bad loss and they need to work on their D and find a pass rush with consistency.  A little better bulk on the O line wouldn’t hurt.

4.            Green Bay Packers (2) – From the start the Pack D was unable to stop Atlanta.  They fell behind early.  The Packer O missed a FG, fumbled in the red zone and were down 17 fast.  Aaron Rodgers tried to run a table but tripped over the leg and fell down.  He reared back to throw one of his classic ‘hail mary’s’ and he was picked.  The Pack couldn’t stop the run or the pass and fell down 4 or more TDs.  They got a little against prevent but when they went on side they turned it into a forty burger.  The Pack D has never been good and this game showed America how bad they are.  Rodgers was destroyed and the Pack lost and are ELIMINATED.  They get to go home and watch the Super Bowl and that is a happy thing for a BEARS fan even though I picked them.  Oh and Aaron…R-E-L-A-X!

5.            Kansas City Chiefs –

6.            Dallas Cowboys –

7.            Seattle Seahawks –

8.            Houston Texans –

9.            New York Giants –

10.          Oakland Raiders – It is official *unless owners don’t agree* that the Raiders will be Gamblers.  It could work for Vegas but I think this could be the beginning of the death knell for pro teams in Oakland.  Oakland needs revitalization and crime control.

11.          Miami Dolphins –

12.          Detroit Lions –

13.          Tennessee Titans –

14.          Tampa Bay Buccaneers –

15.          Arizona Cardinals –

16.          Cincinnati Bengals –

17.        Indianapolis Colts – The Colts fired the GM, who they had just extended.  They stay still that Pagano is safe.  They also say they won’t say that Peyton Manning is in line for Head of Football Ops.  That isn’t a stone cold denial.

18.          New Orleans Saints –

19.          Philadelphia Eagles –

20.          Minnesota Vikings –

21.          Denver Broncos –

22.          New York Jets –

23.          Jacksonville Jaguars –

24.          Carolina Panthers –

25.          Buffalo Bills –

26.          San Francisco 49ers – Evidently Kyle Shanahan will be the head coach.  It appears he and the Niners want Kirk Cousins so Kaep can start listing his lodgings in SF.

27.          Baltimore Ravens –

28.          Cleveland Browns –

29.          Los Angeles Chargers –

30.          Washington Redskins – Washington might be able to pry a 1st round pick from SF for Cousins so that is something to consider if they are too stupid to sign him long term.

31.          Los Angeles Rams – Wade Phillips is the new DC.  He is a great co-ordinator but not much of a coach.

32.          Chicago BEARS – They need a QB.  They can either get a vet like Ty Taylor or get a ND QB and have him back up someone not named Cutler until he’s ready.

There you have it, as always I would love it if someone just reads all the way through my ramblings and also will accept money, preferably tens and twenties!  Any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements are always welcome!

NFL Power Rankings

1.            New England Patriots (1) – on the bye, watching their OC look for work.  Is there a backroom deal for McDaniels that he gets to go ‘sow’ his wild coaching oats until Dark Helmet retires and then he takes over captaining the death star?

2.            Dallas Cowboys (2) – on the bye and must be seeing the same things I read which is that they might as well not even make the Super Bowl as they can’t beat New England.  Hope they are filling the South Texas bulletin boards with that stuff.

3.            Pittsburgh Steelers (3) – Came out afire in the cold and burned Miami’s D a new one.  The Hot play of Shazier melted any chance the Fin O had.  Before the ice melted off the whistles of the refs there were already 3 Steeler TDs on the board.  Hell, it was nearly the 4th quarter before Pittsburgh had to punt.  They were in total control on O and D and never challenged.  The only reason it was within 20 points was a polite prevent D and the refs didn’t throw any flags as they wanted to go into the warm locker room.  A dominating win that sets up a great match against KC next Sunday.

4.            Atlanta Falcons (4) – on the bye and the best offense left alive in the NFC if not NFL must be ready to face playoff capable D’s.  I think Atlanta has a puncher’s chance to get smoked in the Super Bowl by a strong AFC team.

5.            Kansas City Chiefs (5) – on the bye and must feel pretty good to be awaiting likely Pittsburgh with that home field advantage.  Can they win that and then go back to Foxboro and beat the Evil Empire?

6.            Green Bay Packers (7) – The Pack were utterly destroyed by the Giant D for 28 minutes.  The Pack D could do nothing to slow down the Giants.  If not for multiple dropped TD passes they would have been down 21 at least but instead it was 6.  Then Rodgers got a couple to fall in and they had the lead.  That opened the gate and the Pack piled it on and blew them away.  It will be on to Dallas and perhaps the Cowboys won’t be boating with Bieber this week.  A great win.

7.            Seattle Seahawks (12) – The Seahawks displayed solid D, great rush O and some nice passes to easily skate past the Lions.  The game was never in doubt and was pretty much a west coast laugher.  They scorched for well over 160 yards on the ground and scored at will all game.  Now they get to face Atlanta and they will need a lot of luck I think,

8.            Houston Texans (9) – The Texans brought a fierce D and a QB with tons of issues but the plan worked.  The D got the sacks, pressures, picks and played superb give or take a prevent.  Osweiler was actually not awful.  He didn’t turn the ball over once and although he made the typical stupid Brister tosses *bouncing a ball Bubby fashion* but he made some sharp throws too.  They had some nice run game plans that worked and they dominated via the D.  A superb win for Houston.  Since they face Darth Vader in the Death Star can they do it again?  I guess they have a 15% shot.

9.            New York Giants (6) – The Giants came out with a superb D game plan and for most of the first half they dominated.  Pressure on Rodgers, sacks, disruptions etc. They shut down Rodgers and made him look like Connor Cook.  Unfortunately, OBG was too busy thinking about Bieber and the boat to catch TDs and the drops became contagious.  The Giants dominated but only got 6 points.  Near the end 14 were let in and the bottom fell out.  The D, tired and a bit pissed at the party boat O just stopped playing so hard and the game went south.  I blame this loss fully on Beckham and Cruz and Bieber and a boat and drugs.  A real team gets ready for an elimination game all week.  A shameful loss in a game they had totally in control.

10.          Oakland Raiders (10) – Well the Silver and Black should be proud.  They got the playoffs again for the first time in 13 years.  They didn’t have a shot without Carr and then it got worse when McGloin went down and then downright silly when the LT Penn was out.  Was just simply impossible for Cook to win in that stadium with that experience and no LT.  They didn’t manage much and it was over before it started.  I have every confidence that with health notwithstanding the Raiders will be in the AFC Championship game a little more than 1 year from now.

11.          Miami Dolphins (11) – Much of the pregame talk revolved around how Jay Ajayi went for over 200 against Pittsburgh about 3 months ago,  There was talk that if Miami won, could Tannehill be back next week.  Then the game started and suddenly they were down 18 with nothing to do but get sacked, turn it over and let in points.  They were whitewashed and hit harder than Moore’s chin by that sack.  Blown out, never had a chance.  They need to work on fixing the D *getting rid of goons like Suh* and finding more help for Tannehill and they can be heard from next year.

12.          Detroit Lions (12) – The Lions have managed to nicely complete a dire collapse.  The O was totally inefficient against a Seahawk D that has let most anyone move against them.  The Lion D was flat and got beat, bothered, burned and blasted by the run.  It was ugly early, ugly in the middle and ugly late.  The Team has said that Caldwell is safe for next year.  That is damned generous considering how bad of a collapse the once exciting 9-4 Lions had.  A terrible end to a very disappointing year.

13.          Tennessee Titans –

14.          Tampa Bay Buccaneers –

15.          Arizona Cardinals –

16.          Cincinnati Bengals –

17.        Indianapolis Colts (17) – They are keeping the coach for another year.  My lovely wife may not be far off in thinking that they feel they can’t fire a cancer survivor until it is beyond absolutely necessary.

18.          New Orleans Saints (18) – Appears coach Payton is going to stay in New Orleans again.  One wonders if and when the Saints may get tired of the will he stay will he go show and this may just be his last year.

19.          Philadelphia Eagles –

20.          Minnesota Vikings –

21.          Denver Broncos –

22.          New York Jets (22) – They are keeping their Coach/GM combo but I think the dual seat is red hot starting with the Draft and OTs.

23.          Jacksonville Jaguars (23) – I think Mike Smith would be the best candidate for this premium job that has great weather, rich owner and plenty of talent.

24.          Carolina Panthers –

25.          Buffalo Bills (25) – They haven’t yet cut ties with Taylor at QB so I am not ruling this ship as sunk…yet.

26.          San Francisco 49ers (26) – The coaching vacancy highest rated because it’s nice in San Fran most of the time.

27.          Baltimore Ravens –

28.          Cleveland Browns –

29.          San Diego Chargers –

30.          Washington Redskins –

31.          Los Angeles Rams –

32.          Chicago BEARS –

2016 NFC North Preview #NFL #NFLThoughts #TrainingCamp

NFC north

Hey everyone, normally I start AFC East and go by the numbers but if the NFL Network can spend 80% of its training camp coverage on the 4-12 Dallas Cowboys I get to start with a preview of my favorite team’s division.

The Green Bay Packers appear to be the class again. Rodgers seems healthy * a hit in the head away from retiring *, Nelson appears back, Their RB has lost weight, their D is younger and their schedule is easy.

If it all breaks for them, 14-2, if it’s a bad year with injuries 10-6. I suggest 13-3 and they win the division.

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a great year that ended with a bad kick. They have gotten more weapons on offense and the D is still solid. AP is a child beater but seems still capable. The sked here isn’t bad either (whole division plays the NFC Least so that is a good thing).

I think the Vikes could get 11-5 and maybe sneak the division but they could also find Teddy can’t get it done and fall to 7-9. I bet 10-6 and in the wild card discussion.

My CHICAGO BEARS are back and are once more trying to fix the O line, get the D better and hope Cutler can play decent. They could have weapons on O and they could have better O and D. The Sked is easy.

If the BEARS find it all they might get to 10-6 and be in the wild card talk. It could all blow up and be Cutler’s last year with 6-10. I think 9-7 and just out of the playoffs.

Detroit Lions are a team that can’t take another losing season so this will be painful for them. They have a new line on O, no receivers to speak of, questionable RB who fumbles a lot and a QB who is a joke. The D is missing pieces and has about one great LB and CB and that it’s it. No schedule helps this hot mess.

If they have a great year they are 6-10, a bad year will end 4-12. I think they are 4-12.

AFC South next…

MR N’s #NFL NFC North 2015 Preseason Preview‏ #nflthoughts #nflnetwork

NFC north

Green Bay Packers – The first thing I wonder is how does a team that continually drafts late every round build a team of superstars on offense?  How does every other team miss on the Cobbs/Nelsons/Lacys/Rodgers etc?  The Pack are loaded on Offense with every player coming back.  The D has had changes, especially in the back end, but they drafted to meet those needs.  The Pack just needs the D to be mid talented (which they are) and their O to be virtually unstoppable and watch the results pore in.  They have a tough schedule but like the Ravens, they know how to give as good as they get.  If they get inspired D they could win 12 games.  If they D gets pushed about they might only win 10.  I split the difference.  This team goes 11-5 and is at least one of the top 3 in the NFC with a shot at Super Bowl 50.

Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings finally have a franchise QB for the first time in recent memory and an all pro child beater (not to mention Running back) plus depth of varying degrees of talent at WR and TE.  The Vikes O line has already took a hit with their RT going down for the season in the pre-season.  Their 3rd round OL pick must step up immediately.  The D under Zimmer greatly improved in the first year and should only get better with the excellent talent taken in the 1st and 2nd round of the draft.  Like every team in this division, they face a tough schedule.  There are a few spots they can take advantage of and I think if the O is dynamic and the D stalwart the Vikes could win 10 games.  If the O line can’t protect Teddy then they might struggle to reach 8-8.  I pick mid point here too. 9-7. That will give them a very outside chance at a Wild Card but this team is looking and trending upwards for their new stadium in 2016.

Detroit Lions – The Lions were a picked up flag from being in the Divisional round of the playoffs for the first time in at least this century.  The loss of Suh is significant but my prevailing opinion is that he is about two on-field misconducts away from a season long suspension and that is a when not an if.  To task Ngata and a kid to help replace the production on the D line is not a bad option.  The Lions still have a decent D line, a solid LB corps and a growing solid secondary.  This is a D that can influence a game.  Stafford needs to continue to tighten up his passing game.  Megatron is still elite but aging gracefully.  Ebron needs a healthy sophomore season to give Stafford more options.  Golden Tate is the younger star on this receiving corps.  They have Joique Bell and draftee Ameer Abdullah to give them a great RB combo finally.  Their special teams is a problem and they need consistency from both FG and Punts and some semblance of effective play on both coverage and returns.  This could still be an issue.  The Lions are strong but their schedule is brutal.  They will be pushed almost every week up to their bye and if they can end 4-4 at the half that will be an accomplishment.  Pulling off another 4-4 post bye against a second half schedule that is also brutal will be a win for them.  If they can play lights out and Stafford can dominate with the passing game and the special teams do the job – they could win 11.  I don’t see that against this schedule so I think 8-8 is the result for a team better than that record.

Chicago Bears – The bringing in of a new regime at Head Coach and GM bodes well for a franchise that has struggled for nearly a decade.  Fox should be able to bring success to the Windy City but it doesn’t appear it will be in 2015.  The loss of 1st round pick WR Kevin White for at least the first 6 if not the whole 16 games is a big hit.  Having Jay Cutler still at QB is a millstone to success of the team.  They are switching to the 3-4 D (they drafted Goldman to play NT) and this kind of switch usually creates growing pains.  The Bears have 3 ok WR (Jeffrey is a star with health and a good QB), a durable if aging RB and a talented is prissy TE and they have 2/5 of a pro bowl line.  They get to play their own improving division and they get to play the NFC West.  Yeah.  Here is their deal.  If all goes really well they will be 7-9.  If things go badly they might be 3-13.  I think my sad sack 2015 Bears will be 4-12.

There you have it, as always I appreciate any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements!

MR N’s #NFL Conference Championship Power Poll‏ #NFLPlayoffs #Superbowl

NFL Power Rankings

1. Seattle Seahawks (1) – The Seahawks did something I hadn’t seen since they played Dallas during the regular season.  They played like total crap at home for nearly 45 minutes.  Sparkless offense, poor defense, bad coverage, poor tackling and turnovers.  If you ever need to know how not to play winning playoff football, watch the first three quarters of the game.  Then the 4thquarter came and Seattle’s O came alive and they ripped up the standard poor GB D to get the game to OT and then ripped the poor excuse of GB D to win the game.  For the most part they played like they didn’t deserve to be in the game and then they played like a force.  They need to bring their A game to Arizona.  Play like that again and you will lose the Super Bowl.  Not sure now which Seahawk team will show up for the Super Bowl.

2. New England Patriots (2) – The Pats are Super Bowl bound for the 6th time under Brady.  They are a very tough matchup at home.  Unfortunately for New England the Super Bowl is in Arizona.  They game planned well and are who they are.  I firmly believe that win or lose Brady and Belicheck should walk away from the game.  Go out on top.  As for the game let me quote my Week 11 power poll “As for the game, they ripped the currently sappy Colts apart.  Great win.”

3. Green Bay Packers (4) – The Packers came out strong and played their standard game plan and totally dominated the game from the first whistle til into the 4th quarter.  Failure to convert in the red zone early would in the end be very critical.  The two bad picks Rodgers tossed were critical too.  The Packer D and Special teams playing like crap in the 4th quarter and OT were very critical.  In the end the Packers simply took Aaron Rodgers advice and relaxed all the 4th quarter.  They then relaxed in OT and now they can R-E-L-A-X all off season as they are defeated and done.

4. Indianapolis Colts (3) – They played the same way they did in Week 10 in New England, here is what I said then: “The Colts seem to have been a mirage.  They now just fold when faced with a modicum of D.  Luck is no longer able to carry this team out of the holes it falls in.  If they don’t do a major head shake and get it together…they may yet lose the division to the suddenly hard charging Houston Texans.  It is make or break time for Indy.” – well they managed to win the Division and they won two playoff games which is a nice step forward but they never gave their head a shake when they needed to and they indeed folded.  I think the Colts are moving forward nicely and next year I think they may make the Super Bowl.

5. Dallas Cowboys

6. Denver Broncos –The Broncos seem to be about to hire Gary Kubiak as their new Head Coach.  Kubiak was never very effective in Houston and he seems to be getting this job as he was Elway’s backup.  Good luck Denver.

7. Carolina Panthers

8. Baltimore Ravens

9. Pittsburgh Steelers

10. Detroit Lions

11. Arizona Cardinals – Must be galling to the Cardinals that their home locker room will house the Seattle Seahawks.  If they could only have had some O in the playoffs the Cards could have had the dream.

12. Cincinnati Bengals

13. Houston Texans

14. Kansas City Chiefs

15. Buffalo Bills – Rex Ryan has guaranteed playoffs next year for Buffalo.  I don’t think that is a crazy promise as the Bills are close and Ryan may be the guy who brings them to the promised land.

16. San Diego Chargers

17. Atlanta Falcons – no coach yet as the other candidates are all landing someplace.  Will they get anyone or is Dimitroff turning off all the candidates with his ‘style’?

18. Miami Dolphins

19. New York Giants

20. Oakland Raiders – Jack Del Rio is their coach.  He has never won much more than the wood chopping contest in a locker room.  Can he bring the playoffs to Oakland?  It will depend on how he handles the existing core talent.

21. Philadelphia Eagles

22. Jacksonville Jaguars

23. San Francisco 49ers – They hired Jim Tomsula as their new coach.  He had been an interim coach for one game years ago and has been something like their O line coach for years.  He is a ‘safe’ hire but I don’t know if this puts the closer to the playoffs than they were with Harbaugh.

24. New Orleans Saints

25. Minnesota Vikings

26. New York Jets – They hired Todd Bowles.  I think there are a million juries out on how good a move this will be.  Bowles is touted for the quality of the D he Co-ordinated in ‘Zona.  That could be or he was just blessed with great players.  We will have to see how good a coach he is.

27. St. Louis Rams

28. Cleveland Browns

29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

30. Tennessee Titans

31. Chicago Bears – The Bears hired John Fox as their coach.  An inspired choice to help turn around a D that is in terrible shape.  He gets D’s back on their feet and that is the number one job for him here.  The Cutler issue will have to be dealt with quickly and it will be interesting to see if that hot mess is still the Chicago QB come August.

32. Washington Redskins

There you have it, as always I am happy to get any thoughts, comments, arguments or agreements.  I will be happy to accept money, preferably tens and twenties!

MR N’s #NFL NFC North Preview‏

NFC north

NFL Preview 2014

Division: NFC North
Team: Chicago Bears
Coach: Jim Trestman
QB: Jay Cutler

Offensive outlook: This is an offense set to explode. Cutler has a myriad of weapons with in my view the best WR pair in football, Forte and a great young rookie RB and solid TE and a vastly improved line. They will put up points like Trestman did in the CFL.

Defensive outlook: The D has improved with free agency pickups and draft picks. They have a strong pass rush, solid LB with depth and an improving secondary. They will get better as the season goes on.

Schedule projection: The schedule isn’t too hard and this team can outscore most. I see the high bar being an incredible 13-3. I think they will be no worse than 11-5.

Division: NFC North
Team: Detroit Lions
Coach: Jim Caldwell
QB: Matthew Stafford

Offensive outlook: Stafford can toss the rock with the best of them and he has Megatron. They have issues at RB but have improved TE. It remains to be seen if Golden Tate is a worthy #2 WR. They will do alright but expect mistakes.

Defensive outlook: Others really like this D, I don’t. I see continued lack of control, discipline and poor LB and secondary play expected. They will not do well.

Schedule projection: If they excel against their own division they might win 8 but I see a 6-10 year for the Lions.

Division: NFC North
Team: Green Bay Packers
Coach: Mike McCarthy
QB: Aaron Rodgers

Offensive outlook: Rodgers is amazing, Lacy is coming on as a great RB, they have solid WR (Rodgers makes almost anyone look good at receiving) but their line must be improved to keep Rodgers healthy. They will score but sometimes they will stumble.

Defensive outlook: The Packers D is a lot of reputation and they need a big year from vets and they need immediate help from youngsters in the poor secondary. I think they will be a bit better but still beatable more often than they want.

Schedule projection: If they do amazing and the D and O click they could win 10. I think they will win 9 and lose 7 and watch the playoffs on TV.

Division: NFC North
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Coach: Mike Zimmer
QB: Teddy Bridgewater/Matt Cassel

Offensive outlook: If they start Bridgewater right away they will have issues but gain great experience. If Cassel is the QB they will have issues and circle the bowl. AP is their only weapon and that doesn’t win many games in an outdoor stadium.

Defensive outlook: The Vikings are hoping the big draft picks of the last few years are ready to roll. Hunter Smith is a star at Safety but the Vikes are lacking much star power now and will be pushed around.

Schedule projection: This could be a long year for Vikings Fans. I think it could be 3-13 without much effort. They probably start 0-5 for sure. I will be kind and suggest 4-12.

NFC North projected:

Chicago Bears 11-5
Green Bay Packers 9-7
Detroit Lions 6-10
Minnesota Vikings 4-12

Next up the NFC South!

MR N’s #NFL Week 7 Power Poll‏

NFL Power Rankings

1. Kansas City Chiefs (2) – Played a kind of mistake filled under performing game but man that D is stellar.

2. Green Bay Packers (3) – Played another solid game despite being riddled with injuries on O and D. A great team effort.

3. Indianapolis Colts (8) – Played a solid game, took advantage of a creative defensive game plan and Andrew Luck showed how amazing a young QB he is to totally take over a game and win a game that was not as close as the final score. A brilliant win. They sit here because they have soundly beaten SEA, SF and DEN.

4. Seattle Seahawks (4) – The Hawks started slow on a short week but used the simple system of a hard run game and smothering D to get a nice road win and now they can get healthy on the mini-bye and that works well for a team with the week 12 bye.

5. San Francisco 49ers (5) – Kaepernick looked brilliant (finally…been a long time since he has!) and he led his team to a brilliant win.

6. New Orleans Saints (6) – On the bye…a team that seems to be capable of being a force in the NFC and battling for the right to shiver in NY in February. It will be all on them to do this…only they can stop themselves.

7. Denver Broncos (1) – Finally their D got exposed and it cost them a game. Champ Bailey does more harm playing for them then he does hurt. The secondary has holes and Peyton is still uncomfortable facing pressure. Now there is a gameplan to beat them.

8. Cincinnati Bengals (9) – Dalton to Green was a solid effort early. They were in a battle to the end and they pulled out a clutch win.

9. San Diego Chargers (10) – Steady early and it was an excellent road win with solid D and excellent running offense. The team is on a roll going into their bye.

10. New England Patriots (6) – Excellent team effort early. The Pats let the game get away from them and then a bad OT penalty ended their chance. Down they went.

11. Dallas Cowboys (13) – Sluggish start. Kind of went through the motions on Offense and used good D to win a game in the NFC Least.

12. Miami Dolphins (11) – Came out flat. They got their O working but their D was unable to make the key stops when they had to and an opportunity to come off their bye on the right note was lost.

13. Detroit Lions (12) – Stafford was just staring down his receiver so much early he is a pick six waiting to happen. They battled but the D couldn’t make the key stops and down they went again.

14. Buffalo Bills (19) – Excellent 1st half. Good D, efficient and gutsy running game. A key, late golden turnover gave them the late lead and a great Defensive stop gave them a nice win!

15. Carolina Panthers (23) – Terrific 1st Half production. Another great effort. That is 2 in a row. Well done.

16. Baltimore Ravens (15) – Were outplayed, out hustled and outdone by an older team who wanted it more. Harbaugh says they need to find a way to win these games…I say how about giving the ball to Ray Rice more than 15 stinking times in a key division game????

17. Washington Redskins (20) – RGIII on his game. The Skin D was shredded but RGIII drove his improving O to a great come from behind win.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers (24) – Played their best effort of the year with total heart and won a tough division game and it was a great win.

19. Chicago BEARS (14) – Cutler injury took away the excitement of early Special Team and D scoring. The BEARS O was as impressive as their injury riddled D was not.

20. New York Jets (27) – Geno Smith was more good than bad early. He did lead the Jets to an excellent come from behind win. A solid team win.

21. Tennessee Titans (16) – Bringing an 85% Locker back early didn’t actually help. They have the basis of a good team and they are going to get better. It may not be achievable to reach their potential this season now but look out in 2014 for the Titans.

22. Cleveland Browns (17) – Played alright but Weeden is his own worst enemy and he makes mistakes that just kill his team’s chances.

23. Atlanta Falcons (28) – Decent production from the Offense in the first half. The Falcons took a nice lead and then didn’t let their second half prevent defense prevent them from winning a game.

24. St. Louis Rams (20) – D battled on the road but the O was unable to overcome a stout Panther D.

25. Houston Texans (25) – Rookie Case Keenum was amazing in his NFL debut (Matt Schaub…the bus is now boarding and your seat on the one way out of town is waiting for you). Houston played a very good game on the road and only just lost.

26. Oakland Raiders (26) – on their bye. A team that has shown moments of offensive glory and rarer moments of good D. They are nearly ready to be competitive. Let’s see if the Silver and Black can build on this framework going forward.

27. Arizona Cardinals (18) – Gotta give them credit they managed to battle for 20 or 25 minutes but they just couldn’t match up for 60 against a demonstrably better team that overwhelmed them.

28. Philadelphia Eagles (21) – Foles looked bad and then got hurt. The Philly O was non existent while the D was just ok. A bad effort.

29. New York Giants (32) – Any other team would have beaten that team playing that way on Monday night. They won the game but NO they are not back and that is that.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars (31) – Got pushed around early. Another fair effort but it appears they left their all on the field against Denver. Their limited O just couldn’t keep up with the workman like Chargers.

31. Minnesota Vikings (29) – Defense did all it could do but there was no OFF at all. I don’t believe any D can force a 3 and out 45 straight times. The O has to at least get field goals. They have 6 days to not embarrass themselves at home hosting GB in prime time. Good luck.

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (30) – Poor effort early. They brought it close late with good work by Glennon. He is looking like a real NFL QB and they seem to have made a good call to turn the franchise over to him now. The D? it sucks.

There you have it! As always I love every thought, comment, argument or agreement! I would also take cash…preferably tens and twenties!
